About OBS

OBS, short for Open Broadcaster Software, is one of the most widely used streaming applications. Open Source and completely free, OBS is popular among new and amateur streamers and is available on multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Though it's commonly used by game streamers, OBS is versatile enough for all kinds of live streams and productions. While it may not have some features found in Ecamm Live, StreamYard, and vMix, like native support for interviews or displaying individual comments, its capabilities can be extended with free and paid plugins.

OBS supports popular video and image formats such as MOV, WebM, MP4, and PNG, including those with alpha transparency. Our animated overlays can be added to OBS as Media Sources, and static designs as Image Sources.
